How to Feel Like “You” Again as a Fitness Mom

Motherhood is one of the most fulfilling experiences a woman can have.

However, a common challenge many women face is losing a sense of identity after balancing their roles and responsibilities.

If you have ever not recognized yourself or wondered… “When will I feel like myself again?”, as a fitness mom.

This blog is for you, and I’m so excited you’re here!

The first thing to remember is that you’re not alone.

Many moms are experiencing this as we speak, and the good news.

Many moms have also overcome this and reclaimed their sense of self and identity.

Today I’m going to talk about how you can also achieve this through fitness, building confidence, strength, and empowerment!

Are you ready?

Okay, let’s begin!...

Why you may feel this way:

Motherhood can be consuming of your time, energy, and priorities.

Time for yourself may become rare, or a luxury. You might notice you’ve put your needs on hold, and the confident, strong woman you were when your needs were prioritized may feel distant or even lost.

Here are some more reasons why you may feel disconnected from your true self, and not feel like “You”.

Because once we understand the potential reasons, we can begin to overcome them!

  • Guilt

Many moms feel guilty for taking time away from themselves, even when they understand that prioritizing themselves allows them to become the strongest, most confident version of themselves.

  • Personal Time

When a mom has so many responsibilities to manage, she may feel overwhelmed, her schedule is now packed, and she has little time for activities she once enjoyed.

Because she isn’t doing the activities that once brought her joy, confidence, and empowerment, she doesn’t feel the same as she once did.

  • Exhaustion

The constant demand of managing so many roles can leave you feeling drained, with no energy to invest in yourself and your well-being, it can be emotionally and mentally exhausting.

You must discover balance and set boundaries between you and things that drain your energy, whether they are important to you or not for example your family.

You still must set clear boundaries.

Because once you do, you’ll allow yourself to recharge and become the strong, confident, and empowering woman you once were.

If any of these 3 points sound familiar, something needs to change, either set clear boundaries, prioritize yourself more, and understand it’s not guilty spending time away from your responsibilities, it’s actually essential to be your best for them.

Does that make sense?

Here are some steps to reclaim your strength and confidence

By incorporating fitness into your life, you can begin to reconnect with your true identity, and build strength and confidence to find your true self!

Here are some steps you can follow!

  • Set Achievable Fitness Goals

Start with small, realistic goals that fit into your busy life, they should be extremely achievable, so you boost confidence and build momentum while achieving them.

Then, you’ll feel more capable of facing harder challenges.

  • Embrace Strength Training

Of course, strength training allows you to become stronger physically, but lifting weights also builds mental strength & empowerment.

Once you notice yourself getting stronger, your self-esteem will be boosted which carries over into every aspect of your life, including motherhood.

Allowing you to thrive in every way possible that makes you a woman!

  • Prioritize Consistency Over Perfection

As moms, it’s easy to get caught up in trying to do everything perfectly, what matters is consistency.

Perfection is unattainable and unrealistic, striving for it will burn you out, and that will prevent you from becoming the mom you truly desire to be.

Keep moving forward, even if it’s not perfect, consistent progress is the key.

  • Celebration

Celebrating your progress along the way is essential for building your confidence, and for creating a commitment for yourself.

Recognize the small wins too, no matter how small they seem they should be acknowledged and celebrated.

I promise your confidence will thank you for it!

Conclusion

By following these steps above you’ll find yourself becoming stronger, empowered, and more confident.

These are the 3 main components of feeling like “You” again as a fitness mom.

When you prioritize fitness, you’re not just working on your physical health, you’re reclaiming your sense of self, building confidence, and empowering yourself to thrive in every aspect of your life which makes us women.

Confidence, empowerment, and strength help you reconnect with your true self, and a great way of becoming stronger, empowered, and more confident is by prioritizing fitness, guilt-free.

You should view fitness as a tool that helps you reconnect with the strong, capable woman you’ve always been, even with a busy schedule full of responsibilities.

Remember, you don’t have to feel guilty for prioritizing your fitness, it’s not selfish, it’s actually essential for being your best for your priorities and what truly matters to you.

You deserve to feel strong, confident, and empowered, not just as a mom, but as a woman who feels aligned with who she truly is.
