Would You Let Your Phone Run On 1%?

We plug in our phones every single night without hesitation. If our battery dips too low during the day, we reach for a charger. And because the thought of being caught with no power is unthinkable, many of us even carry portable chargers wherever we go.

But what about you? Your energy, your well-being? Are you running on 1%? Many moms over 40 are. They’re giving so much of their energy to everyone else — their families, their careers, their endless to-do lists — that there's nothing left for themselves.
Take a moment to think about it. If you wouldn’t settle for your phone running on fumes, why would you settle for running yourself into the ground?
If you’re tired of feeling exhausted, stuck in your body, or disconnected from your strength, this blog is for you.
The Real Energy Drain (It’s Not What You Think)
It’s not because you’re lazy or “unmotivated.” The truth is, life is pulling energy from you in every direction. Work, kids, deadlines, dinners — it’s a constant give, give, give.
And so often, the well-meaning advice for women like you? “Push harder.” More intense workouts. Stricter schedules. It’s no wonder so many of us feel completely tapped out.
But here’s the thing. If your battery is already at 1%, pushing harder isn’t the answer. You don’t need more intensity — you need a smarter charging strategy.
Because just like your phone battery, your energy isn’t infinite. It needs regular recharging to handle everything life throws your way.
3 Ways to Recharge You
The great news? Recharging doesn’t have to mean massive changes to your lifestyle. Small, intentional shifts can make a world of difference. Here’s how:
1. Micro Workouts = Maximum Impact
Think of it like giving your phone a quick 10-minute top-up so it doesn’t die before you get home. Micro workouts do the same for your body.
A short, strategic strength session — say, 10-15 minutes of targeted movement — can increase your energy and confidence for the rest of the day. You don’t need to spend hours in the gym to see results. These bite-sized efforts add up in a big way.
Try this:
10 squats while waiting for the coffee to brew.
A 5-minute walk around the block after you drop the kids off at school.
15 minutes of yoga or stretching before bed.
2. Movement that Feeds You, Not Drains You
Exercise should never feel like punishment. It’s not just about burning calories or crushing a workout challenge. The goal is to support your body and life, not deplete yourself further.
Whether it’s dance, Pilates, hiking, or simple stretches, choose movement that makes you feel replenished and alive. You want workouts that leave you energized for the rest of your day rather than feeling wiped out.
Ask yourself:
Does this movement make me feel good, inside and out?
Am I exercising for me or out of pressure to “do more”?
What activities feel fun and life-giving to me?
Remember, this is about improving your quality of life, not just checking a box.
3. Permission to Prioritize Yourself
Here’s the hard truth many moms need to hear: You matter. And it’s time to stop treating self-care like it’s optional.
Imagine your phone’s battery is at 2%. Would you say, “It’s fine, I’ll charge it next week”? Of course not. You’d prioritize plugging it in. Now imagine the same for yourself.
Recharging doesn’t make you selfish, lazy, or indulgent. It makes you capable of showing up better for the people and roles you care about the most. Schedule that solo walk.
Book that fitness class. Say “no” when your plate is already full. You deserve the same care and attention you give to everyone else.
Final Thoughts: You Deserve to Be Fully Charged
Here’s the truth no one tells you often enough:
You don’t need to earn rest.
You don’t need to hustle harder to deserve feeling good in your body.
You deserve to feel strong, energized, and capable as you move through your days. A smarter approach to fitness and self-care can help you get there. When you make time to recharge, everything changes. You parent differently. You lead differently. You show up for your life — and yourself — differently.
Now, imagine how that would feel. Energized, confident, unstoppable. At 100%, not 1%.
